Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Nature’s Nectar honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl. To mix, and integrate everything thoroughly.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, with your hands.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Prepare the glaze while the meatballs are cooking. Mix together Nature’s Nectar honey, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan. Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the corn flour and water and whisk until smooth. Whisk the mixture into the glaze to incorporate. Cook, stirring often, until the glaze has thickened and coats the back of a spoon.
  7. When the meatballs are done, take them out of the oven and coat them with the glaze. Return the meatballs to the oven for 5-10 minutes more, or until the glaze is bubbling and caramelized.
  8. If preferred, garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

This recipe is extremely customizable and could be quickly modified to your personal tastes. To make the meatballs more flavorful, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef, or experiment with different seasonings or herbs.
